The Bhagavad Gita

“My life has been full of external tragedies and if they have not left any visible effect on me, I owe it to the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita… To one who reads the spirit of the Gita, it teaches the secret of nonviolence, the secret of realizing the true self through the physical body.” -Gandhi

The mission

We aim to respond to the modern worlds increasing intrigue in yoga, while simultaneously illuminating the deeper nature of its ancient teachings. Through modern, cinematic video and music compositions of the Bhagavad Gita, this production will bring a more complete picture of yoga to life.

Bridging the arts with yogic science will not only creatively inspire but contribute to the inner transformation of those who follow the journey.

"In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial."

- Henry David Thoreau

How

Bhagavad Gita chapters are summarized to make the teachings more accessible and relatable.

Select essential verses in each production are sang in English.

Why

Yoga is sweeping the mainstream internationally. From city centers, to school rooms, fitness programs and public events, westernized yoga has become nearly as common as a meal in a modern daily schedule.

Though it is frequently recognized as a physical regiment, many are increasingly drawn to the harmony it can bring to one’s life and the world. However, many also don’t have access to the deeper teachings which includes much more than physical exercise.

This whole and authentic relationship to the essence of yoga

has become more and more relevant for these times.

The Bhagavad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita is one such yogic source of ancient, universal knowledge, which reveals a practical process for awakening through the multifaceted system of yoga. It has been recognized as one of the most honored yogic scriptures around the world through countless saints, sages, and yogis, as well as widely known figures  like, Mahatma Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, Joseph Campbell, Herman Hesse, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Carl Jung and more…

“In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna is talking to Arjuna, but in reality He is talking to everyone. Because He is not talking to a person, He is talking to the soul. People may differ in beliefs, they can differ in faith, but knowledge, true knowledge, is universal.” - Paramahamsa Vishwananda

About the founding creator

Nikunja first started practicing yoga and meditation at 15 years old and began instructing at 19. The wisdom of yogic science revolutionized her life amidst great challenges. This gave her the motivation at that young age to devote herself completely to this path. Combining her passion and background in the arts, along with 15 dedicated years on the journey of awakening, the Bhagavad Gita project, given by her spiritual teacher Paramahamsa Vishwananda, has become the perfect representation of this journey.
